Varicose vein clinic in Nottingham and the East Midlands
Mr David Sidloff is a consultant vascular surgeon providing specialist varicose vein investigation and treatment from four hospital locations across Nottingham and Lincoln. All consultations include a thorough clinical assessment and, where appropriate, a duplex ultrasound scan to map the affected veins and identify the underlying cause of symptoms such as aching, heaviness, swelling, itching and skin changes.
Treatment options include radiofrequency ablation (RFA), foam sclerotherapy and avulsions (phlebectomies) — all performed as walk-in, walk-out day cases under local anaesthetic. Approximately 90% of patients experience significant symptom resolution within weeks of treatment. Mr Sidloff accepts all major UK insurance providers including Bupa, Vitality, AXA and Aviva, as well as self-pay patients.
If you are unsure whether your symptoms are caused by varicose veins, a specialist consultation and duplex scan can provide clarity and a clear treatment plan. Initial consultations can typically be arranged within 5 days.

Varicose vein investigation — what to expect
Varicose veins can cause aching, heaviness, swelling, itching, or skin changes. A proper assessment (including duplex ultrasound) helps confirm what's happening and avoids unnecessary treatment.
We start with your symptoms, what you've noticed, and what you want to achieve (comfort, appearance, or both).
A duplex scan maps the veins and blood flow. This helps us confirm the cause of symptoms and plan targeted treatment.
If treatment is appropriate, we'll explain the options clearly and recommend what's best for your veins and lifestyle.
Many varicose vein procedures are performed as day-case treatments, with patients typically walking immediately afterwards.
Depending on your scan, treatment may include radiofrequency ablation, foam sclerotherapy, and/or avulsions (phlebectomies). We'll explain what each option involves and what recovery typically looks like.
